OVH steals 1,000 euros from a child protection association

Make noise so that we recover your donations stolen by OVH.

Or how a billionaire from the North, self-declared champion of European digital sovereignty, empties the coffers of a handful of volunteers who track down predators while the State looks elsewhere.

Since 2015, Wanted Pedo has hosted its site at OVH in Roubaix (2 rue Kellermann).

Around 500 euros per year.

Not the price of a coffee from a Parisian trader.

Just the cost of running a site that publishes case summaries, supports families of victims and refuses to play the game of polite silence.

Six months earlier, prices had climbed.

Our association, entirely voluntary, without subsidies, without employees, with a cash flow that has never exceeded the level of a grocery account, asked for a rebate.

Associative status. Child protection. Donations from parents and victims.

OVH response: no.

So we decided to leave.

Foreign service provider, 350 euros/year.

At the same time, we deactivate automatic renewals at OVH.

Well… we believed it.

There remained a well-hidden box, an interface trap worthy of the best low-cost telecoms scams.

Result: unwanted renewal, invoice of 1,000 euros (double), blocked migration, cash flow of 1,300 euros almost wiped out and this 10 days before our annual general meeting.

The association contests the next day.

Orally by telephone and Email.

Denial and refusal of the commercial service. Denial and refusal of customer service.

AG canceled, thank you OVH.

As if 1,050 euros of donations from victims' families were worth less than an automated notification.

Finally, they ask us to explain all this in writing, by registered mail, to the OVH ROUBAIX legal department.

What we did the next day by sending a letter of formal notice with acknowledgment of receipt.

Small presentation of the OVH CLOUD pattern:
Octave Klaba. Born in Poland, arrived in Roubaix, 7,000 euros borrowed from his parents in 1999, water cooling system invented by dad, empire built.

Family fortune estimated at several hundred million, up to more than a billion depending on the Challenges years.

80%’OVHcloud still in the hands of the family.

Became CEO again.

Speech on European sovereignty, the alternative to GAFAM, the customer's freedom of choice.

Speech also on CSR, partnerships with associations, societal impact, support for local communities.

We even find in official OVHcloud documents smooth sentences on patronage and causes in line with «values».

Values.

Which ones exactly

Those which consist of refusing a rebate to an association which fights child crime while the group prides itself on API to accelerate the withdrawal of CSAM content via Contact Point

The ones that turn customer disengagement into double bills and dead silence

Those who allow our association, financed by donations from parents of attacked children, to be drained of the little we have to pay for a service that we had explicitly refused

The forums, Trustpilot, Que Choisir have been full of customers for years who have been saying exactly the same thing: tricky automatic renewals, hidden boxes, labyrinthine interfaces, support that sends you in a loop, phantom invoices, refusal of reimbursement.

OVH is not an improvised start-up.

It is a European cloud giant.

When it happens to an association which has 1,300 euros in cash, it is no longer a bug.

It's a model.

Wanted Pedo has no pension fund.
